Today our 6 month old pup finished his board and train program at American K9. Our well behaved Cavachon is home after loving his stay with the AK9 with Krys, CEO and staff. Trainer Carl Kurten is highly professional. He is kind and Brooks clearly loved working with him. Carl worked with us until we understood Brooks’ commands.

We took our 11 week old puppy for puppy board and train. It’s not cheap but it was definitely effective. We had Nellie and she was awesome! She communicated daily with videos on his progress and has followed up even since we left on making sure we were successful. After having an unsuccessful experience at a group puppy class with a previous dog, I can definitely say Nellie is worth every penny.

What great improvement we have seen with our pup, Ash! We have been able to take him to a number of places and every day walks are so much more enjoyable. His place command has been exceptional during our family dinners as well.

Penny absolutely loved her board and train at AmericanK9. Carl was amazing at taking our little land shark and working with into the amazing family member she is today. We did the 2 week board and train. We received photos and video updates daily to show us her process. I cannot say enough to express how beneficial this program is. Before her stay Penny was biting us and wouldn't walk on a leash. After 2 weeks with Carl she is a pleasure to walk and behaves appropriately in the home. We expressed to Carl that our goal was for Penny to behave appropriately in our home with our kids and other pets and with his work our kids now have a relationship with their dog and love playing with her and walking her. AmericanK9 is an amazing place with compassionate people who truly love dogs. I will be using them for future boarding and advanced training.

I dropped my 1.5 year old male German Shepard off for a two week basic board and train. Carl was his designated trainer, and I couldn’t ask for better communication and results from him. The daily communication including videos and pictures was not only helpful in understanding the training, but gave piece of mind that Ruger was ok. Carl answered all my questions and did a great job showing me how to continue the training at home upon pickup. The difference after just two weeks in Ruger’s obedience was night and day, and I now I feel fully confident in continuing the training and continue to improve his skills and obedience. 10/10 experience!

Nellie was the one who trained my young senior dog. My girl is so much more calmer at the vet and other places and can place and heel like the best of them. She's not the same reactive dog that she was pre dropoff. I would definitely recommend AmericanK9 to others and to ask for Nellie. I would even do more in the with my current dog again at another time for her and me to learn even more and then I think any next dogs I get I will bring from the beginning as puppies.

Carl trained my 2 doodles for a few weeks and theyabre different dogs!! He worked with their individual personalities to ensure they felt comfortable, confident and safe. He sent many updates, videos and pictures which was so helpful. Definitely recommend!

We did two different two-week boarding sessions here with our young lab - half when she was still around 4 months old, half around 7 months old. After her last set of training, I really can't give enough praise to the team at American K9, especially our trainer Nellie. She sent us daily pictures, videos, and notes, and has been very responsive between and after training when we have questions. Now just barely over 7 months old, our lab is perfectly house trained, kennel/crate trained, is wonderful off-leash as well as for leash walks. Carl was super communicative and sent photos and videos every day. We went with AmericanK9 because of multiple friends recommending them assuring it was a safe place for dogs that provides great results. Nellie trained our 7 month old GSD pup, Maverick for a two week board/train.  We dropped him off as a resource guarding, reactive pup and when we met him again, he was like a new dog; a complete gentleman. He learned all the basic commands. Nellie also helped build his confidence and ours too! Nellie was communicative and beyond helpful during the course. We are so very grateful for her and the American K9 team. 10/10 recommend and we will be return customers as we continue to invest in Maverick.
