Meet Krys
For Krys, Labradors have always been part of life. She grew up surrounded by them, developing an appreciation for the breed that eventually became intertwined with her professional career as a dog trainer and handler.
After decades of working with dogs and building AmericanK9, LLC, she set out to create a Labrador breeding program that brought together everything she had learned about health, temperament, behavior, training, and what truly makes a great family dog. Freedom Ranch Labradors grew from that vision.

Freedom Ranch is not a traditional kennel-based breeding operation. Some of our Labradors share the house; others live with carefully selected co-owners, family members, and close friends who love them as their own. They have homes, families, adventures, favorite places to sleep, and lives that extend far beyond their role in the program.
The farm was chosen with the dogs in mind — open fields, woods, fresh creeks, a tranquil pond, and room to run, swim, explore, train, and simply enjoy being dogs.
A family affair
While Krys oversees the breeding program, she has two very important assistants. Her young sons help socialize every litter, spending countless hours handling and loving puppies, and growing up learning the responsibility that comes with caring for animals.
A trainers eye on every puppy
Krys’s professional background changes how puppies are evaluated here. Freedom Ranch looks at more than appearance: how each puppy interacts with people, approaches new experiences, responds to its environment, recovers from challenges, and develops as an individual.
Spending every day with a litter is what makes it possible to match the right Labrador to the right family — which is why puppies here are assigned by temperament and by a family’s goals, not chosen from a photograph.
